Cassie's first class of the day was a practical in the gym. She spent most of her classes in the gymnasium, even during those that weren't exactly supposed to involve sport. She just enjoyed it more and she knew the kids did too.
She was changing the gym around and using it for track today, which meant plenty of running and plenty of whining, she just bet. She didn't mind though, it was part of the job and if her students stopped whining then she would be worried. They would, no doubt be up to something the minute they stopped complaining.
She glanced at the clock on the wall from her perch up on the ladder by the basketball hoops. She had to pull them down or someone would cause some sort of mischief when she wasn't looking. Kids were just like that. They weren't bad, they were just... kids.
Frowning, she couldn't recall whether she had a senior or junior class but she was glad, at least she had worn shorts rather than the cute skirt she had wanted to wear. The weather had been just a little off lately with showers and winds but shorts were still bearable and she couldn't exactly condone jeans and physical activity- if she did her students most certainly would. Cassie was of the opinion that adults shouldn't expect kids- teenagers or younger- to do anything they, themselves wouldn't.
Shrugging to herself, Cassie reached for the last couple of bolts and briefly wished she had an extra set of hands. The first bell had just gone so, hopefully, the kids would be turning up soon so they could catch the hoop. The first, she had dropped and she had gotten it down by dropping it. She'd rubbed at the scuff-mark on the floor for about ten minutes before it went away. She didn't fancy repeating the experience in front of a bunch of students.
