for hundreds of years there have been stories of humans who were just that little
bit more than humans, there have been stories of vampires from bram stoker,
monsters from mary shelley and mutants from stan lee and jack kirby, who knew
that those sort of people actually existed, even if their respective creators got it
a bit wrong. vampires don’t burn in the sunlight, dr frankenstein just happened to
have the power of reanimation and mutants don’t go to westchester mansion. no,
they all go to laurent academy for the gifted youth. for hundreds of years the
academy has been nestled comfortably in the cornish country side, teaching
those aged 16 to 22 to control what they’ve been given, whilst still fitting in
comfortably with the ‘normal’ population.
now the school is gradually becoming divided between the rebellion and the
traditionalists, of course there are those who just want to get on with their own
lives but everyone seems to have picked a side.
